RHK Hydraulic Cylinder Repair and Service Process

Hydraulic Cylinder Disassembly and Inspection
RHK Hydraulic Cylinder is committed to providing our customers with a comprehensive cylinder inspection. When you bring your hydraulic cylinder to RHK it will be disassembled and inspected from end to end. Critical dimensions will be measured, and all component conditions will be evaluated to bring your cylinder back to peak performance. A complete estimate will be provided for approval before commencing any repairs.
Hydraulic Cylinder Gland and Piston Condition Inspection
Glands and pistons can deteriorate over time, especially in harsh working conditions. Glands and pistons can be modified for improved sealing performance or replaced to ensure correct clearance and maximize cylinder operation.
Hydraulic Cylinder Seal Condition Inspection
Seals can deteriorate over time and from working in extreme conditions. Cylinder cycles, fluid temperature, fluid condition, and the condition of cylinder components can all contribute to sealing failure. Cylinders do not usually fail from this cause; however, this is the usual symptom of the problem.

Hydraulic Cylinder Mounting Connections
Cylinders usually require mounting. Some styles incorporate threads, pins, trunnions, tabs, bolts, bearings, or bushings as an example to attach the cylinder to the mechanism that they are operating. Failure of any of these devices can impede or cease the effective operation of a cylinder.
Hydraulic Cylinder Bore Condition Inspection
Any deterioration, scratches or scoring to the cylinder bore will can cause internal oil leakage or a drop in pressure resulting in the loss of cylinder efficiency. Cylinder bores are honed in-house to Ra8 to Ra16 surface finish & a .1mm or .004” diameter tolerance.
Hydraulic Cylinder Porting Connections
All cylinders require flanges, couplings, & fittings as a method of receiving oil flow from the control system. Failure of these items will cause the failure of the component.
Hydraulic Cylinder Rod and Stage Condition Inspection
Any deterioration of the finish or straightness will cause seal failure & external oil leakage. Damaged cylinder rods and stages can be polished and/or hard chrome plated in-house.
